Wong Seet Leng graduated with a B.A.(Hons.) degree from the University of Malaya (UM), majoring in Geography and Chinese Studies. Subsequently she obtained her M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees, also from the University of Malaya. She began her career as a teacher at a secondary school, later became a lecturer at Ipoh Teacher Training College, and then joined UM as a Senior Lecturer in 2001.
Her research interests include Chinese language pedagogy, Chinese education, teacher education, reflective teaching and Malaysian Chinese Studies.
Wong Seet Leng has several publications, either as papers in refereed journals or as chapters in books. She has also co-authored a book entitled ‘Pengenalan Pendidikan Bahasa Cina’ (in Chinese) in 2011.
Wong Seet Leng has been actively involved with the Malaysia Ministry of Education (MOE). She has often been invited to attend the seminars, courses and workshops organized by MOE, either as a presenter or a participant observers. In addition, she has been appointed as an assessor by Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) since 2003.. The tasks accomplished include the assessments of several Chinese Studies programs offered by University Tunku Abdul Rahman, New Era University College and Southern University College.
Wong Seet Leng was appointed as Reviewer for several book manuscripts which were published by the Institute of Southeast Asia Studies (ISEAS), Singapore and New Era University College. She also served as a reviewer for manuscripts submitted to the journals published by Education Faculty, UM, UiTM Pulau Pinang and New Era University College.
