Song Yanpeng, is from Yongnian, Hebei, China. He obtained his Ph.D. in History (Doctoral), and currently is a Senior Editor of China Social Sciences Press and Deputy Director of History and Archaeology Publishing Centre. On November 2012 to January 2014, he served as a visiting fellow of Department of Chinese Studies, UM and visiting fellow of Malaysian Chinese Research Centre. His articles were published in Malaysia Newspaper “Sin Chew Daily”, “Nanyang”, “Guanghua Daily”, and “Oriental Daily”. He wrote a total of four books, such as “A History of Chinese in Malaysia: Power, Community and Religion” (2015). He published more than 20 articles on Malaysian Chinese History. Based on his data collections through his field works, he had some unique insights on Malaysian Chinese history before independence and the history of Chinese Buddhism.

马来西亚华人本身是一个跨学科的研究对象,不仅具有海外华人的共 性,更多的具有马来西亚本土的特性。这个领域不是一个学科所能完 全涵盖的。因此对这个特殊的研究领域,从何角度出发, 做什么样的研究,才能更为科学的表达自己的思想, 这是值得大家认真思考的。该讲座通过研究对象、分析方法、 研究路径、研究结论等方面,用具体的案例来进行详细的解读,对马 来西亚华人研究的现状进行评价,分析其中的得与失,以期进一步推 动马来西亚华人研究。
